Dear Peel District School Board families and students,
Today, Peel Public Health announced new public health orders for the region to prevent further spread of COVID-19, including:
- All students (K-12 including Special Education Programs) will learn remotely at home beginning Tuesday, April 6, 2021. Please do not send your child to school tomorrow. School buildings will be closed to students during this time. Students in the In-Person Learning model will return to their schools on Monday, April 19, 2021. Students in the Online Learning Model will continue with their regular school routines.
- All before and after-school programs are closed until Monday April 19, 2021. Please check with your individual child care operator directly for more information.
- School buildings will remain open for staff who are unable to deliver quality remote teaching, instruction or support to students from home.
Mental Health and Well-being
- Spring Break will carry forward as planned the week of April 12 to 16, 2021. If your child attends a balanced calendar school (Ray Lawson, Roberta Bondar and Tony Pontes public schools), Spring Break will continue this week and students will return to school on April 19.
We recognize that students, families and staff continue to face new and difficult challenges. It's important to know that you are never alone and supports are available to help. View the board's Guide to Mental Health Supports and Community Resources
for a list of immediate, 24/7 supports. We will continue to provide more information to you as it becomes available. We appreciate that these are already challenging times for students, families and staff, and are grateful for your adaptability during this time.
At this time, schools are expected to reopen on Monday, April 19, following Spring Break. Should there be further updates, we will keep families completely informed. Updates will be posted on our board website
Thank you for your continued partnership as we continue to work together to keep students, staff and community safe.
