*Course Changes

We have received many inquiries about course changes. Currently, we are accepting requests that include the following situations:

  1. Student needs a specific course for graduation.
  2. Student needs a specific course as a pre-requisite for college or university.
  3. Student has a course on their timetable that was previously achieved through summer school or private school.
  4. The student has a course on their timetable that is no longer required, and so simply needs to be dropped.
  5. Student is changing their pathway (Academic, Applied, College, University)

To make a course change that meets one of the above five criteria, please contact your guidance counselor as follows:

Ms. Wells / Ms. Say (Students Alpha A-F) (Extension 421) [email protected]

Ms. Sutharsan (Students Alpha G-O) (Extension 420); [email protected]

Mr. DeKleer (Students Alpha P-Z) (Extension 414); [email protected]

You can also call the Guidance Department by calling 905-278-6177, and selecting option #1.

Many of our students have selected fully online learning and so we will see a corresponding reduction in Lorne Park teachers. This will result in significant timetable shifting during the week of September 8th. Once timetables are finalized, and prior to September 14th, families will be notified of students’ semester 1 timetable.

*To make a Course Change Request for the 2020-2021 academic year, please complete the following form   Course Change form 2020-21.pdf   and submit it to you Counsellor.

myBlueprint Description

Getting Started Guide for Parents 2019-2020

Course selection is a continual process and should be based on an individual student's interests, abilities and goals. To assist with this process, students are strongly encouraged to speak to their teachers about proposed classes, read course descriptions online or in the Common Course Calendar, talk to their counsellors and parents, and speak to students who have previously taken these classes. Students choose their classes online—a password is required which can be obtained through the school.

Career Research

Students are encouraged to consult the following online resources prior to choosing their courses:

Course Changes

Once a student chooses a course, they are expected to remain enrolled in that course, unless there are special circumstances. Students are encouraged to speak to their teachers and counsellors, should any difficulties and/or challenges arise.
