The Counselling Department can help students in the following ways:
Educational Guidance

• Course selection and program planning

• Resolving timetable concerns

• Identifying alternate methods of achieving credits (i.e. summer school, night school, distance learning, alternative schooling options)

• Investigating post-secondary pathways (i.e. workplace, apprenticeship, college, university)

• Providing information about scholarships, bursaries, and student loans

• Academic supports

• Volunteerism


Personal Counselling
• Dealing with problems at school, home, or work
• Providing contact information for other community agencies and resources

• Providing information about leadership opportunities



The Counsellors

Each student is assigned a guidance counsellor according to the first letters of their last name. Counsellors can be contacted through the Counselling secretary. The Counselling area is open from 8:00am – 4:00pm every school day.


Counselling Staff

Each counsellor is responsible for a group of students. A student's counsellor is determined by the first letter of the student's last name:

·   H. Mousa: A, Sai-Saq

·   T. Birrell: B-Hus, Sar-Shag

·   A. Stalteri: Hut-Max, Shah-Shak

·   C. Mottram (Department Head): May-Sah, Shal-Shq

·   S. Richardson: Shr-Z

Counsellors will endeavour to keep conversations of a personal nature confidential, however, if there are concerns regarding the individual's safety or the safety of others, confidentiality may not be maintained. In these situations, appropriate actions will be taken.
