"Being Green" Eco Competition and Raffle Each year, Grade 9 Science students engage in a "Research-Informed and Negotiated Action" (RiNA) team project to demonstrate their understanding of the dynamic nature of ecosystems and the impact of human activity on the environment. A RiNA project team in Ms. Lee's SNC1DO class co-ordinated a school wide "Eco Competition" called BEING GREEN. As part of the competition, students are encouraged to engage in eco-friendly actions and submit photos of their deeds to a class-hosted Instagram page. Please read the official contest rules. Participants will be entered into a raffle. The Grand prize for the raffle is a pair of tickets to Canada's Wonderland!
The "Being Green" Eco Competition is sponsored by lana Mattacchione, Marketing Coordinator at Canada’s Wonderland. The competition has been extended and will run from May 25th to June 24th, 2019. The raffle will be held in the library on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019.

Author Talk: Mark Newman Mark Newman, author of the "Sooper Yooper" series, visited the Woodlands Library Commons to speak with Science and Geography students about invasive species in the Great Lakes. Staff and students agree that Mr. Newman is a particularly engaging guest speaker, which led us to book him twice, on December 13th and May 16th. We hope that he will return to The Woodlands next year to speak with a fresh group of students!
